Nuclear Survival Kits - Information

Information:

As much as we are a company that sells supplies and shelters to our customers, that is not all that we do, in this section you will find some helpful information to take into consideration if you ever find yourself the victim of a nuclear attack. We hope that you never have to use the information provided down below.

Nuclear attacks can happen suddenly and without warning, however, in today’s world most governments have systems set in place to warn their civilians, usually some sort of emergency alert that would pop up on your phone. If this were to occur, we ask that you immediately get inside any building that is safe and secure to do so. In the untimely event of where an attack occurs without warning, you should try to find something to hide behind and if not at least try to cover your face and any unprotected skin..

Get Inside:

  • Find the nearest building and move inside it immediately, preferably brick or concrete but do not take time to find these, getting inside is most important.
  • If you are outdoors, take cover from the blast and lie face down and cover any unprotected skin from the heat or flying debris from the explosion. If you find you are in a vehicle, stop your car and duck down inside the vehicle and protect any unprotected skin.
  • In the event that you were unable to get inside a building, once the bomb has gone off and you have found shelter, remove any clothing that would have been contaminated in the blast or from the fallout. Avoid touching your eyes, mouth, and nose if possible, you do not want to get any radiation that may be on you on these parts of your body.
  • Once you have entered the building try to get to the basement or center of a building if it is safe to do so, avoid outer walls or going to the roof. The walls could give way and collapse on you, and there will be radiation outside so going to the roof is no an option we recommend. If possible try and keep a safe distance from anyone who you do not know and cover your mouth with a mask if possible to avoid breathing in radiation.

Stay Inside:

  • We suggest that you should stay inside your current location for 24 hours before you even try to go outside. Nuclear fallout is most intense during the first few hours of a nuclear attack but by staying inside for 24 hours, fallout has greatly reduced and any other damages to existing structures may have occurred so it would be easier to venture out. If you are equipped with one of our kits and a shelter, we recommend that you stay inside for the time that your survival kit is good for.
  • It may be safe to go outside once you have been contacted by the proper local authorities who will guide you to a safe area.

Be Safe After:

  • After a nuclear attack has occurred, remove your outer layer of clothing if possible, this may have been contaminated from the explosion and fallout.
  • If possible take a shower or wash yourself with soap and water on any areas that were not protected from the explosion. DO NOT use hand sanitizers as they do not help with protecting you or getting rid of contamination.
  • Only consume foods and liquids that are already packaged and were inside a house or building when the explosion happened. If you have purchased one of our kits then you can eat the packaged food and bottled water that has been provided.
  • With your emergency radio, stay tuned to what is going on outside your shelter, this will give you information on when it may be safe to leave your shelter and where to go once you do so.

Hazards Related to Nuclear Explosions:

  • Bright Flash- Nuclear bombs produce a very bright flash which could lead to temporary or permanent blindness.
  • Blast Wave- Nuclear bombs emit a very powerful wave that can cause death, injury, and damage to any buildings or structures several kilometers from the blast.
  • Radiation- The explosion from a nuclear bomb is created by the nuclear reaction that occurs within it, this emits radiation which can cause damage to your cells and have long term health risks
  • Fire & Heat- There is an immense amount of heat that comes from these nuclear bombs, these can cause intense fires to occur and even cause death, burns, and damage to structures.
  • Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) - When a nuclear bombs explodes it emits an electromagnetic pulse which can knock out power equipment as well as infrastructure, be prepared to be without power for a period of time.
  • Fallout- Visible radioactive dirt and debris that rains down over several kilometers that can cause sickness and radiation contamination.

FAQ:

Do you build shelters and kits for people who are not in 4-person households?

Yes, we build shelters and provide kits for anyone who wants to have them, we just base our current selection off of a 4-person household because that is the majority of our customer base.

Do you only build 400 square foot bomb shelters?

No, we can build shelters of any size that our customers want. To get an idea of what a bomb shelter may cost, a cement shelter costs roughly $155 per square foot. For the Anti-Sievert® Concrete, it costs $620 per square foot.

Why is the Anti-Sievert® Concrete so much more expensive?

The Anti-Sievert® Concrete is more expensive due to the cost of manufacturing and buying it from the company that we purchase it from, as well, this product has a higher resistance to nuclear radiation, and our construction team needs to spend more time building the structure.

Do you only build concrete nuclear shelters?

Unfortunately, at this point in time, we only deal in concrete shelters as our construction team has a lot of experience building these structures, and we want to provide the best product for our customers.

Do you only build above ground bomb shelters?

No, we build shelters that can be built underground as well, however, the cost is a lot higher, due to extra equipment needed and the extra time that it takes to build the shelter. We can also build concrete shelters in your home, if you would like this, but it may take extra time as the concrete needs to be brought to the home and worked inside instead of being poured by our concrete truck.

Do you offer any other kits, aside from the ones on your website?

Yes, our kits can be customized to fit the needs of our customers wishes. This can be because more supplies are needed for a larger family, or people may wish to have a survival kit that lasts a long time, just note that this will increase the final price of your kit.
